I am thrilled to report that in addition to releasing my new full-length poetry collection The Light Becomes Us (Main Street Rag) this summer and anticipating a fine press treatment of another full-length collection, Babylon Songs (First Bite Press, forthcoming), the small press boats against the current has accepted my poetry chapbook Toothache in the Bone for publication!
The poetry world is a competitive one, with tons of talented writers and too few presses that can pick up our work, as poetry usually is not a particularly profitable arm of a press. I feel like I have won back-to-back-to-back Lottos, with various editors believing so deeply in my work that they are willing to put their labor into publishing it. I’m humbled, grateful, floored…you would think as a poet I would have better language for Big Feelings, but I am still reeling.
I’m also working on the site and will publish a page with individual literary magazine publications soon. Something else I take great pride in and am grateful for is the traction my creative writing has gotten since I started writing and submitting work again in November 2024 after a long hiatus. As of today, 78 individual poems have found homes in various literary magazines and anthologies, in print and online!
Stay tuned, and in the meantime, don’t forget to order your copy of The Light Becomes Us for the few remaining weeks it is 50% off as an advanced sale incentive!
