I am just tickled that Arcturus decided to accept my poem “To Be Read While Listening to Tanaka’s ‘Korobeiniki'” (IYKYK, 80s kids, amirite?). The other poems in my submission were accepted elsewhere, so they asked me to send more poems. That in itself I consider the highest compliment–there are a billion other poets out in these streets submitting, and literary magazine editors and readers have more than enough to choose from. So I sent in a few more, and today they let me know they’ll also publish my poem “Animalia”! I know there’s a limit as to what can fit in a particular issue, and piles of poems or choose from. I’m so grateful to the editors & readers who choose my work to share with their readers. It’s like someone willing to put their good name out there for you–priceless.
