I am excited to share that Floyd County Moonshine has accepted my poems “Sestina for College Years in Danville, Kentucky” and “Sojourn to Pleasant Hill” for a forthcoming issue! I am always proud when I can hang with the enormously talented poets of Appalachia, and to be able to do it with a sestina (a form I find most difficult to work with) is just a recipe for me being merry for weeks. I’ve been in quite a bit of pain these past few weeks (the ankylosing spondylitis is flaring and doing its best to make me miserable), but this put an enormous smile on my face. It also makes me happy to go back to Kentucky, even if just in my head and my writing, so placing these pieces with the memories they hold in such a perfect publication for them just has me feeling blessed.
