I’m pretty puffed up that Screen Door Review has accepted my poems “Aubade with Hound” (a sonnet) and “When I Say I Love You This Much I Mean”! Another fantastic literary outlet that I’ve been a fan of for long time that I’m really proud to be included in. I studied under some fantastic poets who trid to get me to understand the sonnet–I used to hear them saying, “This poem wants to be a sonnet” in my sleep. While my work is nowhere in their league, writing one and getting one published always makes me think of Molly Peacock, Debra Kang Dean, and Jeanie Thompson. Much as I fought it at the time, you were all right. Sometimes a poem really does want to be a sonnet!
